What is a Home Watch?
A Home Watch is a company that focuses primarily on caring for and safeguarding second homes in the owners’ absence. The Home Watch provides a trusted professional to be your eyes when you are not there and advocates for you by acting on your behalf.
What is the difference between a Home Watch and a Property Management Company?
Property Management Companies generally book and manage the rentals of second homes. A Home Watch does not book rentals and focuses exclusively on the care of your home. If you are seeking rental services, we are happy to recommend some local companies who specialize in this area.
What if I want to manage my own property rentals?
Mountain Haven Home Watch does provide services for homeowners who choose to manage the rentals of their vacation home through participation in websites such as Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO), HomeAway, FlipKey, PerfectPlaces and Airbnb. These websites provide second homeowners with the opportunity to have more control over their property as well as their income. Mountain Haven Home Watch supports our clients in this endeavor by arranging for complete cleaning services prior to and following your guest’s departure. We are also available as a local contact to assist your guests with anything they need and handle any emergencies that may arise.
Do I need a Home Watch?
If you own a second home in this part of the country, you need a Home Watch! There are so many things that could go wrong in your absence…frozen pipes, damage to the structure of your home due to heavy snow loads, electrical problems, insect or rodent infestation, running out of propane, mold, vandalism and burglary. Weekly assessments provide an avenue for taking proactive measures that could prevent most of these situations from becoming a disaster.
Why should I entrust my home to you?
We have established a high level of trust within the community and have a rapport with local law enforcement agencies. We are personally involved in the assessment of each home. Unlike many other companies, we do not hire inexperienced individuals who are new to the area to go into your home and conduct a “cookie cutter” assessment. Mountain Haven Home Watch is insured.
What are your rates?
At Mountain Haven Home Watch, we pride ourselves on customizing all of our services to meet your specific needs. We do not provide standardized services that are based on the need of the provider instead of the client. For this reason, we are unable to list our prices. Prices will vary depending on your needs and the size of your home.
